Connecting GitHub

  1. Connect your GitHub account to our application by pressing the Connect GitHub Account button at the top or clicking the link in Step 1 on the dashboard.

    note

For us to be able to distribute a version of Unreal to you, we need to verify you have access to Unreal Engine. We do this by making sure you're part of the EpicGames/developers team on GitHub which Epic uses to distribute the Unreal Engine source code.

  2. You will then be prompted to authorize the application:

    GitHub account authorization

  3. Press the Authorize RedwoodMMO button, and you will be redirected back to the dashboard. If you're not already connected with the Epic Games developer team, you'll see a banner at the top of your dashboard:

GitHub account not a member of the Epic Games developer team

  4. If you see the banner like the above image, click on the Get Team Membership button or follow this link to follow the official instructions from Epic Games to get access to the team.

    note

We have noticed it may take up to 48 hours to get access, but hopefully it should be quick. If you think there's an issue, please let us know!

  5. Once you have access to the developers page on GitHub, press the Check Team Membership button on the Redwood Licenses dashboard as pictured above.

    note

If you ever forget the URL for the License Manager, you can always find a link on the right side of the header of any of these documentation pages.

  6. Once we detect you're part of the GitHub team, the dashboard will show that "Your GitHub account [username] is properly configured" and Step 3 on the page (see the below image) will now have a hyperlink for you to download the Redwood Installer which we use to distribute the evaluation version.
